accsyn Title Library - Introduction
An introduction to the accsyn Titles library feature - allowing you to tag media beneath titles, with proxies, transcoding, streaming and export tooling.
accsyn provides media management capabilities for files residing on the accsyn cloud hosted storage. The major purpose is to categorize your media deliverables below titles (movies, TV series, short films, etc) and then tag them enabling VOD deliveries, content streaming, DCP authoring, lab services and much more.
Important notes:
Not currently available for BYOS workspaces, only on the accsyn cloud hosted storage.
Titles
An accsyn "title" is a (root) folder on the cloud storage containing media bound to a specific movie or TV show, identified by its IMDb ID.
accsyn fetches movie metadata from IMDb upon title creation making it easy to quickly setup the base structure of your library. Titles have a cover image, and also can have a banner image, for easier identification and enriched presentation of deliveries:
Example of title listing in the accsyn Desktop app.
A standard title sub-folder structure is deployed when a new title is created, making it easy to get started organising your media deliverables.
Media
A "media" is a file or folder beneath a title being tagged with standard attributes, identifying its format (technical attributes) and purpose within your delivery pipeline.
Once a file is tagged as media, it can be subject to advanced media operations within accsyn such as automated transcoding, streaming, DCP authoring and VOD delivering.
Example of media tags:
Type: VID (video), SND (sound), PIC (picture),..
Audio: 20 (stereo), 51 (surround)
Category: MAS (master), DCP, VOD, SALES
Season: S01, S02,...
Transcoding
Once the master media has been logged (Category: MAS), accsyn enables transcode into a well defined set of sub content such as:
iTunes
Elise
VOD, for further streamable proxy transcode (HD HLS)
Lowres (with TC burn-in and more)
Proxy (1Mbps web preview)
Exporting
accsyn support export to various streaming vendor package formats, such as Viasat, iTunes and so on. Instead of being a time consuming manual effort that most likely needs to be outsourced to a specialised subcontractor, you can directly export the media from within the accsyn platform.
Delivering
Media delivery is enriched by the proxy engine, providing title cover and banner with the deliveries as well as metadata. A delivery can have a mix of media and standard file and folder contents.
With the accsyn host daemon installation feature, deliveries to remote endpoints such as clients, cinemas and other public showrooms can be sent without any user intervention on the receiving side.
Streaming
Once VOD media have had a streaming (HD) proxy transcoded, it can be sent as a streaming delivery one or more recipients. The streaming delivery can have a mixed content of streams, media and standard files and folders.
Lab services
The media add-on was initially built in-house at one of accsyn's major customers to provide streamlined lab services, services that now are a part of accsyn's official product catalogue and includes:
Media ingestion with IMDb linkage - we can check and ingest the media for you.
DCP (Digital Cinema Packaging) authoring
SVOD (Streaming Video On Demand) packaging
